Simple Past Tense - Pengertian, Rumus dan Contoh Kalimat dan Artinya

Simple Past Tense adalah suatu bentuk kalimat untuk menyatakan kejadian yang terjadi pada masa lampau dan sudah terjadi. Pada simple past tense juga terdapat keterangan kejadian yang biasanya untuk mempertegas keterangan waktu yang telah terjadi seperti (yesterday, last night, last month).Untuk bentuk kalimat, Simple Past Tense dibagi menjadi 2 bentuk. Yakin Simple Past Tense dengan verb dan nominal. Verb disini dalam artian diikuti oleh kata kerja. dan untuk nominal sendiri adalah kebalikannya.

Pada kalimat simple past tense, penggunaan verb (kata kerja) diikuti dengan bentuk kata kerja ke 2. Baik itu regular verb ataupun irregular verb. Apa itu regular verb? regular verb adalah kata kerja yang bentuk kata kerja ke-2 dan ke-3nya sama. Contoh : (Study, Studied, Studied). Dan Irregular verb adalah kata kerja tidak beraturan, atau bentuk ke-2 dan ke-3nya tidak sama. Contoh : (Eat, Ate, Eaten). Adapun penggunaan to be pada Simple Past Tense adalah 'Was' dan 'Were'. Was digunakan untuk (He, She, It, I) dan Were untuk subject (You, They, We).

(Interrogative) Did + Subject + Verb 1 + Object + ?

(Positive) Subject + Was/Were + Object

(Negative) Subject + Was not / Were not (Wasn't/Weren't) + Object
